Plan your Honeymoon

Your honeymoon is the chance for the two of you to relax and unwind after all of the wedding festivities have ended. Just like planning your wedding, it is easy to get overwhelmed with all of the choices.

We recommend considering the following tips to reduce stress and help you plan the honeymoon of your dreams:

1. What are your interests? If you're like many couples, your tastes and hobbies may be different than your significant other's. It's always a great idea to create a list of the most important activities, interests and hobbies you each have. For example, are you looking for adventure, relaxation, organized tours or all-inclusive resorts? We recommend you take a day to check out bookstores and websites to research locations that spark your interests.

2. Budgeting for your honeymoon is a necessary step. Figure out what amount you can afford and use that as a baseline. The great thing about a For the Moon registry is that instead of purchasing house wares, your guests will be contributing to your honeymoon budget. Did you know that the average couple generates enough gifts to cover 60% of their honeymoon expenses? We strongly remind our clients not to go overboard with the planning. If your registry does not cover the total amount of your honeymoon, you will still be required to pay the remaining balance. We always recommend having a multi-level honeymoon package in place. As your registry builds, you can add options such as extra activities or even additional days!

3. Finalize your plans with your travel agent.   From airfare to activities, they handle the details so you can relax.  If you need help planning your honeymoon, we will put you in contact with up to three of our recommended travel agencies.  These travel agents will assist with pulling packages and rates for your specific destination.  To have an agent contact you, make sure you check the "agent contact" request box on the registration form when signing up for your honeymoon registry.
